Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police mentioned they were contacted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then located numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report preliminary tests show the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for details.

An important political figure stated the incident made him without words and had to be solved quickly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
